I must admit, I hate water. But I can’t ignore science or the countless studies that have been done proving that water is absolutely critical for staying alive and being healthy.

And if that’s not motivating enough, not having enough water has been shown time and time again to hinder or flat out prevent weight loss. So hopefully now you are ready to fill up that cup and drink some gold old H2O

A few critical reasons to stay hydrated:

1.It fuels your workouts. If you are thirsty during a workout, it’s too late, you are dehydrated. Your workout takes a nosedive at this point and you energy level, intensity and form can suffer big time which all impact the productivity of your workout. You did a great job showing up at the gym, so stack the chips in your favor to succeed and make sure you are hydrated before, during and after the activity.

2. It boost metabolism. Every time you eat or drink, your body has to go to work aka, burn calories to process through the food or liquid. Water counts. So when you bring that cup to your lips celebrate since you are doing something good for your metabolism.

3. It increases energy. Energy and weight loss are peas in a pod. When you have energy, which will increase when you drink water, you will feel that much more inclined to be and stay active, which is a critical component to having a healthy body and losing weight if you want to achieve that. Water makes up 70% of your body and keeps your cells firing, your muscles fed with oxygen and nutrients and your brain focused and on target for reaching your goals.

4. It keeps you from drinking other liquids. If you are hydrated you will be less apt to reach for that diet soda, coffee, soda or potential drink that is filled with less than wonderful ingredients which can slow metabolism, pack on pounds or prevent you from hitting your goals. Water is a perfect drink and those who stay hydrated have less cravings for sugary and caffeinated foods or drinks.
